How to flash various ZGEMMA receivers

HOW TO FLASH H.2H STB
=======================

Use a USB stick, formatted in FAT32.

Get a good E2 image, say this one: zgemmah2h-PurE2-6.2-20180528_usb.zip :SMALL_~12:

PurE2 "repository" is here: http://pur-e2.club/OU/images/index.php?dir=6.2/airdigital/

Unpack it and send it to USB stick. Unmount it and take it out of your PC, then stick it into the FRONT USB PORT of your H.2H STB, behind the little flap-door, hiding a card slot!

Press the black Reset button or the white power button at the back of the H.2H and HOLD IT! Don't let it go until you see FLSH on LCD. Then, let it go and enjoy...

No other box with this processor flashes this fast, I think...

I'll report more later, as I am testing it now... :EV012E~133:

Well, the really demanding stuff should not be installed in it - HbbTV etc. I tried all sorts and overloaded it, it seems... as it slowed down considerably.. So, I cleaned it a bit, rebooted and it was OK then... :)

In the end: IPTV Player is working... So, Sat TV + IPTV Player + Media Player is good enough! :12_small35:

ZGEMMA H9 MODELS
=================

As above,

-use FAT32 formatted USB stick

-send the h9 folder and 2 files (bootargs.bin and fastboot.bin) to the stick and then take it out of your PC

-switch off your Zgemma H9 at the back, using the white power button

-shove the USB stick into the back USB port of your H9

-press and hold the small, black RESET button at the back, then

-press the white POWER button, while holding the RESET button

-let go of the RESET button once you see the LED flashing (changing colour between white and red)

-wait a bit...

Njoy! :)

How to reflash a Zgemma H7S or H7C by Satboxer at Zgemma.com
[edited by yours truly... -devil§ :12_small35: :10_small20: ]

1) Download a latest release version of your chosen (favourite) firmware image directly from the developers website.

2) When the file has downloaded and been saved to your computer unzip it.
You will then have a file named [zgemma]. (Inside that folder you should have another folder named [H7] ).
a) Copy the full folder named [zgemma] to a freshly formatted (FAT32) USB key.

3) Turn off your H7 receiver with the white button at the rear next to power input.

4) Plug in your USB key with the zgemma folder on it (any USB port should be OK).

5) Behind the front flap (door panel) you will see a small button to the top left hand side.
Hold this button down (push in) whilst turning on the rear white power push button.
Keep the front button pushed in and on the front LCD panel you will see the display change from BOOT> USB> FLASH.
When FLASH is displayed you can remove your finger from the from button.
The receiver will now remain displaying FLASH (approx 2minutes) whilst the new firmware is loaded onto your receiver.

6) The box will then restart itself showing BOOT on the front screen. [00>100]

7) You should then see your new firmware installed on the TV screen and the installation wizard will run you through the set-up process.

Special note – If you save your settings to your internal harddisk (HDD), if one is fitted, you will get the option to import your previous settings and bouquets which is a feature that I have not seen/used on previous versions of Zgemma receivers.

H7 users who did use USB flashing method recently and lost about 200MB of internal FLASH space (internal flash size should be around 766MB not around 520MB) are advised to use image zgemmah7-PurE2-6.2-20181207_usb.zip or later. Internal partitions should be restored to a more familiar setting.
Users (H7) who made only on-line image flashing in the last month should NOT be affected with this problem.

And thanx to Maestro Delfi, soon one may have an option to flash a non-Multiboot image, with the whole of H7 4GB flash at your disposal for tons of plugins, skins, tools, picons, EPG and whatnot, all in the single partition... He is almost finished with that one, too...

PurE2 for everybody, giving the users - freedom to choose from various options

1) 4 x 770MB internal partitions or a single, large 4GB partition (in the case of H7 but perhaps possible with Alien1/2, as well???)

2) Automount ON or Automount OFF

3) if OFF => mount your USB and internally wired devices permanently (in fstab), as you want them to be
(in which case they will NOT swap places and mess up your installation and careful configuration, thanx to "dynamic mounting" [DMM/OpenPLi logic})

4) choose with ease where to place your picons (not that it must be in a single place chosen by a coder, like Automount usual "logic" etc.), EPG, SWAP etc.

5) choose so many aspects of Franc's Estuary skin, the way you find it most useful/easy to navigate/"looking good" to you:
-the main menu (static or sliding, "traditional" old fashioned one etc.)
-fonts
-sizes, colours etc. of various elements
-where to place things
-which bits to show
-where you live (weather plugin)

...and on and on and on...

Have fun messing about!

PurE2 is unique and giving users options, like no other image amongst E2 varieties...
