Pure2 6.3 full image back-up does not work on Zgemma 9H Twin

I've recently been getting a Zgemma H9 twin. It is a fantastic little box. Very fast and multiboot is great. I'm using Pure2 6.3.

However, I cannot get the full image back-up to work. I've also tried it with OpenPli 7.1 and OpenATV 6.3 with no success.
I've got a newly installed 300GB HDD with only a few files (movies, recordings etc) on it.
The backup of the system settings to HDD works fine.
However when I elect to do a full image backup to /media/hdd I get this output with Pure2 (and OpenPli) :-

With OpenATV 6.3 the process gets a bit further:-

A zip file is created on the HDD. I can then enter recovery mode and flash the backed-up image.

However, when flashing is complete the box does not boot and it just reverts to the recovery mode.

The zip file produced (101,116Kb) contains

There is no "uImage". Should there be?

I've tried backing-up the image in use and also an image in another slot - with the same result.

Am I the only one with this problem? What is the problem? How can I fix it?

Hello, m8! Long time no see...

How's the smartcard hacking going? :)

One of the guys was on hols, so maybe it's that... But - we won't have the TWIN boxes 'till Monday...

Soon, hopefully... ;)

The smart card days are long past! :)

I assume the full back-up works fine with the H9 Combo?

If it does then I'm perplexed as, AFAIAA, the Combo and the Twin share the same firmware?

This issue does not just affect Pure2 image though as I get exactly the same problem with OpenPli (and a similar problem with OpenATV). It seems to me a more fundamental problem?

I know about smartcards, just kiddin'... :)

I haven't been to OpenPLi forum in a long time, since those arseholes have behaved really badly towards me... well, "some members of the OpenPLi Team" to be exact...

But, there was a thread concerning the add-on on that forum - however, last I remember the author has abandoned the project... Not sure if anyone picked it up...

I do not use it, as in *ever* (where's the fun in that? :D ), so sorry, can't help much in that respect...

I did alert the coders to your post, though... ;)

Have foon! :)

I agree, I did not get much help on the OpenPli forum other than some (good) advice to try OpenVIX!

I've now done that and can confirm the full image backup of OpenVIX 5.3.007 works fine on the Zgemma H9 Twin.

Perhaps this is useful info for the PurE2 developers. :)

I think I have discovered the problem I was having in the PurE2 image backup. One of the plugins I had added had overwritten the 7za file in /usr/bin

When I replaced the original file the full backup then worked.

I still got the "socket ignored" error and the "Image creation failed" message but a backup zip file was created and I was able to restore it.

Ah well, ok glad it kinda works. We are not really big fans of the full backup concept, so it is a bit neglected.
