software update

Hello
I usually flash the box once a week
how do i get the latest image without flashing the box
I do software update
but build date is old
one can update to the latest or it just suffices
makes software update

there are 2 ways to update the image .
Path 1 you go to software update and the image will be updated.
Path 2 You go the path flash on the Fly and you flash the last image you can get online on the server. Before you should save the settings,
Not every update also means a new image partly are only plugins running in the update. You can have a look at the files of the update before.

Big stuff requires re-flash (from USB stick, usually):

Linux kernel changes.

partitioning changes.

loader changes.

Gstreamer, FFmpeg etc. changes...

I have made the software update
look down the picture .... upgrade .....
software: build date is old still ....

Build date tell you when the base is built.
This has nothing with updated stuff.
Look under Upgrade date, at the bottom of the screenshot.

Theoretically speaking; you can flash image with build date 20.01.2017, but if you upgrade your image on regularly base then your image is up to date.
