DVD Player GB UHD UE 4k

Was soll nicht funktionieren beim angeschlossenen DVD player
Wird nix angespielt ?

Grüße, vielen Dank für die Antwort.

Buil: pure2 - v6.2 - 002

DVD rein -> kein sr0

Sorry, never used external DVD player, only DVDs (as folders) from NAS/PC HDD/external DVD (USB plugged in).

Moreover, I only have concerts of all sorts - not original films on DVDs, so a slightly different experience...

Amongst other things, I am a musician, hence a slightly different interest in DVDs here...

DVD Player was built-into E2 a while back and Delfi recently improved the menu handling, after a report from me about BSOD.

Generally, it works really well, no need for a licence, if you know what I mean...

There are some additions of DVD kind in Extensions but I didn't see improvements, I must admit. Then again, my experience is slightly... different...

Some even suggested BluRay plugins, to improve DVD handling and whatnot, but after testing it, I saw nothing improve, I must say...

If anything, E2 was crashing with BluRay player plugin...

But maybe at your end it might work...??? Try and tell, we shall be listening...

And good luck!

Tiopedro suggested the following:

Quoted

Please repeat your Tests playing DVD`s (VOB or iso) after installing from Feed as there are
DVDburn plugin (there is at least one of these dependencies installed with), which is basically developed to create iso-files from external DVD-Burner Device
python-mutagen for better handling of CD Structure
Bmediacenter needed for Bluray Playback
Blurayplayer-plugin for Browsing the Sources and Playback

Results from my tests...

First, in my H9.2H + USB attached HDD, with PurE2, I installed this:

Quoted

python-mutagen for better handling of CD Structure

(To find it, one must go to Advanced options in SW Manager, to get to the looooong list and it is at the bottom, so go UP to find it)

FILE LIST button > no change with, for instance, Eric Clapton "One more car, one more rider" - no sound in the DVD Menu, choosing songs is the same as before, once chosen - nothing happens...

Then, this:

Quoted

DVDburn plugin (there is at least one of these dependencies installed with), which is basically developed to create iso-files from external DVD-Burner Device

Nada, no change.

Quoted

Bmediacenter needed for Bluray Playback

As above.

If you go to the MENU > B Media Centre > find the DVD folder > it can't play it, you can only play them separately, one by one, as the E2 included Media Player (and other individually chosen and added plugins) can.

Quoted

Blurayplayer-plugin for Browsing the Sources and Playback

As above, nothing works with a built-in DVD Player... BSOD when going to Plugins > BR player...

But this is not a test conducted after a virgin installation.

Full RESTART (just in case) and the same results...

Installed Kodi and tried... Nope... Not as a whole folder, no...

Eric Clapton from HDD, Paco de Lucia from NAS, Aranjuez or Anos de Flamenco - no sound, if there is image to be seen... NOthing I do in the settings changes it...

Tests continue...
