Zgemma H9S fresh usb install problem

Hi,

Strange behavior when i try to make a fresh installation of last 6.3 image (and others older releases since september) on Zgemma H9S, i have to repeat the installation process 3 or 4 times before succeding after removing sdcard and anything connected to receiver except usb disk used for flashing.

As i don't have telnet access to the receiver because of bootloop at start i take a photo of what's happening instead of providing a crashlog.

index.php?page=Attachment&attachmentID=13193

Any advice ?

Regards

gorski

I am an amateur but it says Dinobot FRQ or something like that....?

Try a different USB stick and a different image, no devices connected to the box, not even mSD card.

The right USB stick should do it...

Thank you Gorski you probably right (as usual) it's for me the only right explanation, i don't see anything else.
Next time i'll try with a dedicated USB stick

Yeah, we had these issues many times... Compatible USB is the problem many don't see initially (me, too sometimes)...

Loaders - or whatever the SW that starts - are not perfect... not all USB sticks are recognised...

If no one else has the same problem, then it must be something specific to what you are doing, like unfortunate collection of USB sticks...

The only thing that comes to mind is a different maker of USB sticks. Traveller 16GB works well with all boxes, I found...

Also, try a different image: 6.2 or 6.3 (now 6.4 might be ready for it?)...

Good luck, m8!

Ah, one more thing: if you expanded eMMC onto mSD card, then try in pManager > Scripts > going back to booting from eMMC first and then flash it...

Although, short of some kind of HW failure, you should be able to flash the box even if you do not do that...

Also, try an older USB stick...I have an unbranded 256MB USB stick which works with everything, weirdly...

Hi,

Tried to figured out why box always crashes on every fresh install with any usb stick used, and why i'm the only one having this problem.
So why me and not everyone ?
I started digging more and more and finally i think i resolved the problem at least for me.
Just by changing language yxdcfgh
I always choose french as default language and on first reboot crash, leaving the same usb stick connected fashing again and choosing english as default language and reboot, no crash, tried three times to be sure , no crashes.
Restoring my settings with french language stored previously ---> Crash on reboot
Deleting config.osd.language=fr_FR in settings ---> No more crash on reboot

So there's something wrong with french language, don't ask me why it's beyond my knowledge :EVC471~119:
